Australia and New Zealand’s largest bus operator, Kinetic, has proudly announced the appointment of three exceptional, independent non-executive directors to its board, marking an exciting milestone for the company.

Kinetic has become a leading mass transit platform in Australasia, with 7,300 employees moving over 100 million passengers annually using a fleet of 5,000 vehicles. The company is also the majority owner of Go-Ahead, the UK-based international transport group with 6,000 buses, six rail franchises and over 26,000 employees.

A leader in the roll-out of battery electric buses (BEB), Kinetic is working towards a 100% zero emission bus network by 2035, supporting a target to be Net Zero by 2035. This year Kinetic’s zero emission fleet will grow to 300 in Australasia and over 1,000 globally.

The addition of the new directors supports the company's continued global growth and industry leadership ambitions and is a strategic move towards more experienced, diverse and independent board representation.

The three new directors, Eileen Doyle, Annette Carey and Janine Stewart, bring to Kinetic a wealth of experience, expertise, and fresh perspectives, earned through distinguished careers in senior operational, management and Board-level roles.

Eileen Doyle is a seasoned senior executive and board director with extensive experience in logistics, property, manufacturing, financial services and construction. She has served on the boards of several ASX-listed companies. She is presently a director of Santos, DBI, NextDC and Airservices Australia.

Annette Carey brings to the board a wealth of experience leading businesses in the logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, government, and security sectors. She has formerly been CEO of Linfox Logistics and Linfox Armaguard, and EGM International at Australia Post. She is currently a director at ASX-listed Sigma Healthcare and government business enterprise National Intermodal.

Janine Stewart is an accomplished former c-suite executive with a track record of driving business transformation across a diverse range of industries, including financial services, media, aviation, and government. She has held senior leadership roles at Qantas Airlines, NewsCorp Australia, and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, among others.

Kinetic Chair, Stan Kolenc, welcomed the new appointments and said their diverse backgrounds and experience would provide valuable contributions to Kinetic’s board and help achieve its strategic goals.

“Our mission remains simply to improve the livelihoods of the communities in which we live and operate, and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Kinetic,” Mr Kolenc said.

“We have set bold targets around achieving zero emissions and using our responsibility in operating critical infrastructure to address inequality, and effective governance and an ongoing social licence to operate remain essential for success.”

“We welcome the new directors and believe our board is well-positioned to guide the company forward and towards continued growth and value creation for our stakeholders.”
