Australasia’s largest bus operator, Kinetic, has begun a new contract with ISS Facility Services to support South Australia’s energy and resources sector, further establishing its reputation for excellent service and signalling continued growth in the region.

Under the new contract, Kinetic will support ISS, a leading facilities management provider to the energy and resources industry, until March 2027.

Kinetic is now operating services to support the workforce at Carrapateena in the state’s north. These include transportation from camp to site, airport shuttles, and contingency services for both planned and unplanned transfers between the remote site and Adelaide.

Located 472 kilometres north-west of Adelaide, Carrapateena produces copper concentrate and is one of the largest mining projects in South Australia in the last decade.

The contract builds on Kinetic’s existing operations in South Australia, where it has a long history successfully providing bus services for major players in the natural resources and critical minerals sectors.

This includes regular and shutdown services to Olympic Dam and Oak Dam, covering camp-to-site transportation, airport shuttles, and transfers between remote camp locations and Adelaide.

The partnership recognises Kinetic’s ability and capacity to deliver high-quality transport services and its commitment to enhancing the service standards for its tier 1 counterparts in a sector vital to Australia’s economy.

The contract will be serviced by a fleet of premium King Long coaches, designed to meet the stringent safety standards of the industry.

Kinetic’s Executive General Manager South Australia, Sarah Ismail, expressed her excitement about the new contract, highlighting the dedication and passion of the Kinetic team.

“This contract is a testament to the care and commitment of our team to deliver for our partners and communities, and it was great to see our first day of operations delivered precisely to plan and with brand new vehicles,” Ms Ismail said.

Kinetic provides specialist workforce transportation in key mining and resources regions across Australia, including Darwin, Olympic Dam, and the Bowen Basin, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of personnel between mining sites and regional centres.

Carrapateena is located on the traditional land of the Kokatha people.
