Kinetic turns up passion and pride for Wear It Purple Day

A sea of purple was on display as Kinetic celebrated Wear It Purple Day across Australia on Friday, 30 August 2024.
Kinetic proudly celebrated the event in support of rainbow youth, reaffirming its commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
Madonna Hegerty, Kinetic’s Executive General Manager - People and Safety highlighted the importance of the day in reinforcing Kinetic’s core values.
“Each day Kinetic is responsible for safely transporting young Australians and we want to send a clear message they are welcome and supported,” she said.
“Inclusivity isn’t just a goal at Kinetic, it’s a fundamental part of who we are.
“Wear it Purple Day gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate diversity in all its forms and to show our support and respect for our LGBTQI+ community members.”
This year’s theme ‘Your Passion, Your Pride,’ resonated deeply with many at Kinetic, encouraging young people who identify as LGBTQI+ to embrace their true selves and pursue their dreams.
Kinetic bus drivers Lyndon O’Dath and Tracy Raleigh were excited to get involved in the celebrations in Melbourne.
“It was so much fun decking out myself and my bus in purple decorations,” said Tracy.
“The students loved the purple flowers and were wishing me a happy purple day and seeing the smiles on their faces was fantastic.”
Lyndon said it's great to work for a company that celebrates inclusivity and supports such important causes.
“Wear it Purple Day is something I look forward to and I know it sends a great message to the young people in our community,” he said.
