The Board of Go-Ahead said on Wednesday that Christian Schreyer will stand down as Group Chief Executive at the end of October, when he will be succeeded by Mr Parras.
Christian joined Go-Ahead in 2021 and led the business through the move from public to private ownership under Kinetic and Globalvia.
In the 12 months since last year's takeover, Christian has established a new executive leadership team, delivered growth in the bus business, and this week completed the successful divestment of Go-Ahead’s German rail business.
Miguel, who led the acquisition of Go-Ahead for the Globalvia consortium team, has extensive experience in business development and financing investments in infrastructure and transportation.
Miguel will lead Go-Ahead to the next stage of its development, supported by Matt Carney as CEO – Bus and Patrick Verwer as CEO – Rail. This exciting next stage will see Go-Ahead continue to pursue strategic growth and deliver outstanding bus and rail services in both the UK and international markets.
Kinetic Co-CEO Michael Sewards said he was excited about Go-Ahead’s future.
“Over the last 12 months we have been extremely impressed by what we’ve seen from the Go-Ahead team, in particular in the progress on the decarbonisation of bus networks, the incredible mobilisation of bus operations in Manchester, and in the world-class rail operations,” Mr Sewards says.
“There is clearly a very motivated team proud and passionate about the work they do and the company they work for, and that’s something we know is a fundamental foundation. We have every confidence in Miguel supported by an experienced leadership team in driving the company forward as a world-class transport partner globally.”
