Tasmania’s largest private bus operator, Kinetic, has launched two new coaches in partnership with leading tour company APT Travel Group, operator of trusted APT and Travelmarvel, in preparation for a busy tourist season.

The two coaches feature special Cradle Mountain-themed livery, celebrating one of Tasmania’s most beloved landmarks and the state’s attractive tourism industry.

Mladen Vukic, Chief Product and Operations Officer for APT Travel Group said the livery highlights the group’s commitment to presenting the best of Tasmania and supporting the state’s local tourism industry.

“Cradle Mountain is a World Heritage Site, and we’re so pleased to bring it to life on these coaches,” Mladen said.

“It’s about more than just the iconic landmarks – we’re equally dedicated to uncovering and sharing Tasmania’s hidden gems, with some experiences exclusive to APT and Travelmarvel. Our tours will help connect visitors to regional areas and provide an expert view of what makes Tasmania so special.”

The coaches are expected to escort approximately 1600 travellers around Tasmania each year on 12-day tours, contributing over $4.3 million in tourism spend to the State.

There are 72 coach tours already scheduled for the peak season from October 2024 and April 2025.

Guiding the journey is driver, Dorrie Langdale, Tasmania’s first female coach captain.

Dorrie began her bus driving career five years ago, behind the wheel for Kinetic on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

She relocated to Tasmania for more opportunities to drive charter services and now navigates the state’s picturesque landscapes as coach captain.

“It’s been great to have the opportunity to do more charter work, and I’m so privileged to be able to share the beauty of Tasmania with visitors,” she said.

Kinetic, formerly known as Redline in Tasmania, has worked in partnership with APT Travel Group for more than a decade, and together are anticipating a bumper tourism season.

Kinetic’s General Manager in Tasmania, Andrew Grzinic, said he is pleased to strengthen the partnership and improve the tourist experience.

"Welcoming these brand new buses for our APT and Travelmarvel operations gives tourists a world-class way to experience the heart of Tasmania,” he said.

“Coaches play an important role in our tourism economy and we’ve got an incredibly proud and passionate team who love giving travellers a memorable experience when visiting our beautiful state.”

Across Tasmania Kinetic proudly delivers charter, school bus and public transport services throughout the state, with more than 280 team members and a fleet of 216 buses. Kinetic also operates the SkyBus express airport service connecting visitors between Tasmania’s aviation gateway and Hobart city.
