Smart Ticketing

For customers travelling on Gold Coast, you can now use your Visa, Mastercard, or American Express debit or credit card, including cards in the digital wallet of your smart device, to pay for your travel.

Smart Ticketing is also available on South East Queensland (SEQ) trains, trams and ferries and will be available on the remaining bus operator, Transport for Brisbane, shortly.

SEQ bus operators where Smart Ticketing is currently available:

  • Caboolture Bus Lines (CBL)
  • Kinetic Sunshine Coast
  • Hornibrook Bus Lines
  • Thompson Bus Services
  • Brisbane Bus Lines
  • Kangaroo Bus Lines
  • Bus Queensland
  • CDC Sunshine Coast
  • Transdev Queensland
  • Logan Coaches
  • Mt Gravatt Bus Service
  • Clarks Logan City Bus Service
  • Kinetic Gold Coast

Smart Ticketing will be activated on Brisbane City Council buses (Transport for Brisbane) shortly, which will then see Smart Ticketing available on the entire SEQ public transport network (trains, trams, buses, ferries).

Make sure to tap on and tap off before transferring to a new mode of transport.

To successfully use Smart Ticketing, it’s important that you prepare early by removing your card from your wallet to the equipment reading multiple cards at once. Also use the same card or device to tap on at the start of your trip and tap off at the end of your trip to avoid incurring a default fare.

If you need to transfer to a Transport for Brisbane service, you will need to continue to use your go card when transferring.

Any customers who wish to continue using their go card at this time, may continue to do so. Children aged between 5 and 14 years will still be able to travel free on the weekend using their orange child go card.
