We care deeply about the communities in which we operate.
Not only do we keep people connected and cities moving, but we also contribute to clubs, voluntary organisations and charities in the communities in which we operate.
From supporting sporting clubs that bring communities together to backing charities that matter to our people and their families, we have always identified ways to leverage our role in the community for the greater social good.
Kinetic is a long standing supporter of FoodBank Victoria, the largest provider of food relief in Victoria working with famers, wholesales, manufactures and volunteers to reduce the prevalence of food insecurity.
In 2018, Team SkyBus lead by Kinetic Co-CEO Michael Sewards competed in FoodBank’s inaugural Hunger Ride. Cycling 164km throughout Victoria’s alpine region, including 2500m of climbed elevation, Team SkyBus raised an incredible $27,651.00 for FoodBank Victoria.
SkyBus team members were privileged to participate in the FoodBank Pick and Pack initiative throughout 2019. This involved physically packing grocery items into boxes to be distributed to one of the 450 registered charity partners across Victoria.
During 2020’s Bushfire crisis, Kinetic staff volunteered their time assisting with the packing of emergency relief hampers to be distributed to those effected.
Kinetic’s SkyBus supported Foodbank during the bushfire crisis by adding a donation option to its online sales channel and installing cash donation tins at SkyBus ticket counters across Melbourne. Over $20,000 was raised from these efforts.

Golden Octopus Foundation
In 2019, Kinetic’s Sunbus Townsville launched an exciting partnership with the Golden Octopus Foundation. The partnership aims to drive important awareness and fundraising efforts in aid of children and families battling childhood cancer.
In addition to a cash donation, Sunbus committed to wrapping two buses in a Golden Octopus themed design. The first vehicle featured Golden Octopus founder Keely Johnson.
A colouring competition for local children was run for the second bus design. Triple M personality and Golden Octopus Director, Steve ‘Pricey’ Price helped Sunbus choose the winning entry submitted by Year 7 student Karlie Gorbal. Her artwork is now catching the eyes of thousands as it travels across Townsville.
White Ribbon Australia
In 2017, Kinetic’s SkyBus took the oath to support and champion White Ribbon Australia’s cause to stop men’s violence against women.
Dubbed the White Ribbon Decker, SkyBus dedicated and wrapped one of its double decker buses it in the White Ribbon Day colours of black and white, away from its iconic red, to amplify this worthy cause and the oath taken.
Through this initiative, SkyBus employees were encouraged to pen their signature as an oath, literally along the side of its White Ribbon Decker. Further to that, information posters were posted throughout its offices and depots to educate employees to STOP (See, Talk, Offer, Prevent) any disrespect and violence against women.
Breast Cancer Network Australia
Kinetic is a proud supporter of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) a national organisation that works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs.
In 2016, Kinetic’s SkyBus transformed one of its iconic red double decker vehicles into a moving Pink Lady, the known and loved symbol of BCNA.
SkyBus customers were also encouraged to share their support of BCNA by donating at its ticket booths at Melbourne Airport or Southern Cross Station’s Airport Gateway, or via its online sales channel.
Volunteer Firefighter Brigade
Kinetic’s Telfords are proud to support the Volunteer Firefighter Brigade.
In March 2020, Telfords supplied 3 platinum coaches free of charge for the Volunteer Fighfighter family day on the water, an initiative created by Above & Beyond Boating as a way to give back to the dedicated fire fighters who have worked tirelessly to protect homes, families and wildlife from bush fires.
“Thank you very much to Telfords for being part of the ‘Firefighter family day on the water’. We had a fantastic day, your driver was professional, friendly and accommodating.
The day was amazing, the absolute best day ever and it will be long remembered. Thank you Telfords.”
